Ideal Heating's Logic+ has impressed the engineers at Orpington-based AC Wilgar, the most awarded plumbing and heating company in the UK, which is now celebrating its 25th year. Owned by Billy Wilgar, who is also a former chairman of the HVCA's Heating and Plumbing Services Group (HAPS), the business has 23 staff working from three offices, covering a large patch across north Kent and south east London.
Attracted by the raft of new and innovative features advertised, the company decided to try the Logic+ for themselves. "According to my engineers it's just as straightforward to fit as we'd been led to believe. From situating the jig position to hanging and connecting all of the components up, the boiler is very easy to install," Billy explains. "We will certainly be using the Logic+ again, and I'd recommend it to other installers too."
"They especially liked the stand-off jig with all of the pre-bent pipework so the boiler can be connected up via the ceiling, and the numerous holes available to secure the jig to the wall," he continues. "With all other manufacturers' models, half of the battle is bending the pipes behind the boiler and making sure nothing gets in the way. With the Logic+ it takes a matter of minutes."
The Logic+ range includes Combi, Heat Only and System models, available in a variety of outputs to meet a wide range of different domestic situations.
Each appliance is lightweight and easy to handle, and every model is compact enough to be installed in a standard kitchen cupboard.
Every Logic+ boiler boasts a 16 character plain text display with a fault code history log, while a variety of fluing options (including high level flue outlet kits, and a direct rear flue kit for the Heat model) makes for a more straightforward installation when replacing an existing appliance. Frost protection is built in, while weather compensation controls are also available as an option.
And it's not just the installation of the new Logic boilers that is quick and easy; servicing is too. The 75mm condensate syphon is translucent to allow blockages and debris to be spotted at a glance, while the case itself is designed with a small depression inside to catch any water that may be spilt during servicing.
