Ideal's design service
Our in-house design team, based at the Ideal Stelrad Group offices in Newcastle, consists of 6 fully qualified Building Services engineers with a combined knowledge of over 100 years in the design and installation of domestic and commercial systems.
To enable the team to prepare layouts they will need architectural drawings that will show floor plans and elevations, ‘U’ values or at least the actual construction from which we will be able to calculate them. From this information we will prepare a system to the latest requirements of all relevant British Standards and the current edition of the Building Regulations and / or to the client's very own specific requirements all of which will be indicated on our Developer Check List to be returned with the enquiry.
The design package will consist of full schedule of equipment (boilers, radiators & all ancillary components required), detailed layout drawings showing boiler and radiator positions all pipe runs and their required sizes for both the heating and domestic water services, a typical diagrammatic sketch of the arrangement between the boiler and cylinder cupboard and finally a comprehensive general specification.
We will also offer a system performance guarantee of the system with the proviso that the system has been installed exactly as indicated on the aforementioned drawings with no alternative being acceptable without our consent in writing.
