Ideal Heating is delighted to announce that Sam Buckley, a graduate of our Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship, has won the title of "Apprentice of the year" at the high-profile H&V News Awards 2011.
Held at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in London, last night's award ceremony played host to the very best of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry thanks to a record number of entries. In Sam's category alone, for example, a total of seven apprentices were shortlisted.
Despite such tough competition, the judges thought that Sam showed "exceptional achievements" and were impressed with his high level of knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment. As a result, the 22-year-old from Hull was awarded the coveted title.
Ideal is incredibly proud to have such an outstanding ambassador for our apprenticeship scheme, and we hope that Sam will inspire more talented young people to join. We'd like to congratulate Sam on winning not just one, but two awards within a year for his achievements as an Ideal apprentice*. Sam is proof that with hard work and dedication, the winner really can take it all.
Congratulations Sam!
* Last May, Sam also received the title of "Advanced Apprentice of the Year" for the Yorkshire & Humber region as part of the National Apprenticeships Awards 2010
